Geisha makeover experience at Kyoto GION AYA
You will take pictures of elegant Maiko in the courtyard of a real teahouse in a Kyoto townhouse.
The lanterns and deer lanterns are also typical of Kyoto. Although this is an outdoor shoot, it is possible to shoot even in rainy weather.
Please choose your three favorite poses from the following. Special poses will also be available depending on the season. (If you would like to take more than three poses, you can add them as an option.)

Choose between a Geisha or Maiko, change into a kimono undergarment and socks, and start applying makeup. Maiko will give you a cute look, while Geisha will give you a mature look.
For a natural looking half wig, hair length must be at least 5cm. Geisha style wigs and those with short hair will be required to wear a full wig.
All kimonos are made of luxurious pure silk. Please choose your favorite kimono and obi.
You can also choose hairpins decorated with seasonal flowers and motifs. Geisha style hairpins are simple and mature.
For the Maiko experience, you will wear a loose obi (sash) of about 7 meters that is tied by hand. For the Geisha experience, it will be tied in a tight taiko knot.
We move to the small garden on the first floor and start shooting. Please choose the pose you want to be photographed in. We will take the photo while searching for the angle and gaze that will make you look beautiful as a Geisha or Maiko.
If you do not add any other options such as a stroll, you will have 10 minutes of free time to take photos with your smartphone.
While you remove your makeup and get changed, we will retouch the photos and give them to you in an album.

Only for courses that do not include outdoor photography, you can enjoy a walk within the area of the walking map provided by our shop (maximum 60 minutes).
We also provide kimonos for men accompanying women who are participating in the maiko experience. (Photography is not included.)
This is a special geisha costume inherited from a real geisha. (Limited to those under 160cm tall, reservation required)
This maiko costume is of higher quality than usual and features delicate dyeing. (Reservation required)
All data of the photos taken is included. Feel free to make additional copies on your home computer. (Photo correction is only available for photos printed at the store.)
Customer experience photos include retired kimonos, obi, hairpins, and seasonal poses.
