The other day, the staff who do the makeup and dressing got together and held a "makeup study session."

 

This time, the lecture was held on the theme of "My ideal maiko"!

At GION AYA, rather than someone teaching, we have many study sessions where each staff member deepens their own learning by sharing their own ideas.

The reason we do this is because in order for our staff to help each customer think for themselves and transform into a beautiful person, it is not enough to simply be taught what to do.

 

The reason I chose this theme this time is because the final result will change depending on "what it means to determine what is beautiful."

Since it is impossible to transform customers into beautiful people without an ideal of beauty, each staff member shared what they think would be the most beautiful aspects of an ideal maiko.

Simply put, it is a presentation of each staff member's aesthetic sense, so it is a study session to hone their sense.

We all gave presentations about our "ideal maiko" that we had compiled in our own ways, and there was a huge variety in the presentation styles and the methods of gathering information (laughs).

 

Listening to each staff member talk about their ideal maiko and their particular preferences, I was convinced and thought, "Ahh, that's exactly how they put on their makeup!"

Listening to the other staff talk about their preferences and what they like about their ideal maiko, I learn something new and discover something new that goes beyond the length of each staff member's career, making it a truly meaningful experience.

 

By participating in these study sessions, I feel that the quality of my makeup and kimono dressing for everyday customers is becoming more refined.

Since I am also involved in the filming, I notice it right away (laughs).
