But I think many of you are wondering if there is something different!

In fact, if you look closely at the kimono and hairstyle, you can see the differences quite clearly.

First of all, what are Geisha and maiko?

Simply put, Geiko are the grown-up version of Maiko!

GeishaThe job involves performing arts such as shamisen and dancing at tea ceremonies to liven up the atmosphere.

Aiming to become that kind of geishaWomen in training are called maikocalled.

The terms geisha and maiko are unique to Kyoto.

Maiko learn the art during the day and attend actual tea ceremonies in the evening to train.

Most maiko undergo around five years of training to become geiko, so perhaps the limited period of time gives maiko a special feeling, which is why they attract so much attention!
