When you feel like that, why not try being a maiko to lift your spirits?

At GION AYA, we can make oshitaku for Geisha and Maiko.

I've written about the differences in my previous blogs, but this time I thought I'd write about the differences in makeup.

Well, it's a difference from Takemika's point of view though.

The other staff members are all slightly different, so it might be interesting to compare them.

Can you tell which one is a maiko and which one is a geiko???

So, first of all, let’s go see the maiko.

This time, I wanted to show the difference in makeup, so I tried to make the maiko makeup look as cute as possible.

To make the eyebrows look soft and cute, I drew them straight and slightly rounded without making them too arched.

The color is also strong red, but too much red is a bit of a problem, so add some black to the end of your eyebrows to give it some definition and a softer look.

I also drew the eyeliner a little thicker from around the pupil to make my eyes look rounder.

However, since this model's eyes are naturally very round, if we make them too thick their eyes will look triangle-shaped, so we draw them in while keeping an eye on the balance.

The red amulet is not very visible when you look at it straight on, but if you look down like this, you can see a glimpse of it and it looks kind of sexy, doesn't it?

Even if you look down, if you tweak the corners of your mouth you can take a cute photo.

To make your beni look cute like this, make sure that the bottom is plump and round, and the top is thin but has a nice peak, so that when you smile, you look cute.

So, I tried doing maiko makeup like this.

Next time I'll go see a geisha.

Unlike maiko, we will apply makeup to create a sharper look with a more centered look.

All professional geisha wear wigs, so our shop also provides wigs.

The eyebrows are also a little narrower and sharper. This time, I used a little more red to make them look sexier.

The eyeliner was drawn firmly from the inner corner of my eye, and then lipstick was applied firmly from the inner corner of my eye.

This time, I wanted to go for something more sexy than a maiko... (laughs)

The red charm is also a little bit darker towards the corners of the eyes, making it look sharp but also glamorous.

When you look down, you exude a more mature sexiness.

The red is also feminine, sexy and plump.

Make the lower lip slightly wider and rounder.

I tried to make the upper lip rounded and raised.

Overall, I tried to emphasize the atmosphere of a more mature woman than a maiko.

 

This time, I borrowed the face of the makeup staff, Mr. Hirao, to show the difference between the makeup of a maiko and a geisha.

You can discuss with the staff about the finish and image of your makeup, so it's not like you have to look cute just because you're a maiko!

You can become the maiko or Geisha you want to be.
