My daughter has already turned 10, so I decided to have her try out being a maiko this spring to celebrate her coming-of-age ceremony.

I just had the experience of becoming a maiko to celebrate Shichi-Go-San, but time has flown by.

(No wonder I've been having pain in various parts of my body lately...)

This was taken during the summer vacation before I started elementary school.

This time, I was also dressed as a maiko and had my photo taken!!

I asked Takazawa to make her younger than my daughter, which was a bit of an unreasonable request. (laughs)

My daughter was still young and I was so excited the night before that I couldn't fall asleep easily...

I also have fond memories of the unprecedented incident of falling asleep during filming.

At the time of Shichi-Go-San, children still have a youthful look, and their faces are round and cute.

She's in the fourth grade of elementary school, so she's at the age where her facial features start to really start to look more adult-like...

Your facial features really do change over time! So I'm wondering if I should have kept it every year???

My daughter is also going to become a maiko, and there are still many kimonos and hairpins she wants to wear, so I'm really motivated!

 

I did the makeup and photography for the half coming of age ceremony, so I couldn't be there with her,

I was deeply moved to see my daughter's growth.
