This is the make-up geek garden of GION AYA, the maiko experience place♡
Some of you may already know this, but...
The maiko in this photo that stands out on the homepage is me.
↓
Now I'm focused on putting on makeup, but for over 10 years now I've been modelling for the Hagion Aya website and learning a lot from it!
So, Sono, who has been a popular subject for many years, will now introduce some techniques that you can use during the free time you have to take photos with your own camera after the photographer has finished shooting!
This time, I'd like to introduce some points to keep in mind when being photographed.
Tip 1: "When taking photos outside, go into the shade!"
It is not advisable to take photos of maiko in full sun, especially during the summer when the sunlight is strong.
This is because... because she is wearing "white Japanese makeup," her face tends to appear bright and pure white when the sunlight hits it.
Recent smartphones and cameras have good performance so it's okay, but taking flash photos from close range is also a no-no.
Point 2: "Lower the shoulder facing the camera"
When photographing maiko, the key is to "flex" the body! But how do you do that? You may be wondering,
Just lower the side facing the camera and you're good to go!
By lowering the sides, your neck will look slimmer, so it's a two-for-one deal!
If you find it difficult to just lower your shoulders, try leaning your body toward the camera.
Tip 3: "Instead of keeping your head straight, tilt it to the left or right"
If the head is kept straight, it will look like the person is standing upright, making it difficult to achieve the cuteness of a maiko.
Just tilt your head to the left or right to create a lovely expression.
When shooting with multiple people side by side, tilting them towards each other will give you a good balance.
Even when dressed as a geisha, just tilting your head can make you look sexier; it's amazing how your appearance changes depending on how you're prepared!
Point 4: "When carrying a maiko's basket, hold it under your left arm."
We also encourage them when they go out for a walk, and when maiko carry their baskets (luggage), they always do so on the left side.
If you imagine holding a baby, it feels soft and beautiful.
It looks more elegant if you hold it under your left arm and place your right hand on top of the basket.
It will look even better if you also align the fingers of your right hand!!!
There are more points to write out,
First of all, keep these four points in mind and enjoy free photography!!!
そ し て,When taking a photo with a big smile, "don't show your teeth"It is also a golden rule.
So, please look forward to the sequel, which will cover tips for free photography~~~~
