The kimonos worn by professional maiko are custom-made to fit each individual maiko's size.

They are hand-painted Yuzen designs and are so expensive that they have six zeros on them.

Sometimes kimonos worn by professional kimonos are recycled, but they are still expensive, and they have stains and fading, so they need to be repaired, which costs even more. Also, the size varies depending on the height of the person who wore it.

Kimono in GION AYAsWe have brand new kimonos that have been re-tailored to fit maiko. They are made of pure silk and have a focus on classic patterns, and are carefully selected by our staff from the perspective of what a professional maiko would look like wearing.♡ The color of the hakama is also custom-made to match the image of the kimono.♪

In recent years, we have been getting a lot of customers from overseas, so we also have items with vibrant colors and designs that we think will appeal to overseas customers.

In order to suit customers of various body types, the sleeves of the nagajuban are sewn onto the sleeves of the kimono.

Just the right bonus: It's located in a quiet area called Gion's traditional Japanese restaurant district, and the building used to be a teahouse where maiko actually used to visit!

If it were a place where professional maikos actually go out, I would be a little careful, but on the other hand, if it's in the downtown area, there are a lot of other tourists and it's difficult to go out,

GION AYA is located in the restaurant district near Yasaka Shrine in Gion, so there aren't too many tourists and you can easily get there by just stepping outside.You can take photos in a Kyoto-like townscape.Great location♡
