Just right①: Japanese makeup similar to that of a real maiko, but carefully calculated to fit the customer's face and look good in photos

Since I'm a makeup geek, I want to talk about makeup first.

 

Professional maiko basically do their own makeup. So the makeup varies depending on the geisha district they belong to and also on the maiko,

The younger maiko, who just made her debut, only wears red on her lower lip, no black eyeliner, and only a hint of red makeup around the eyes to ward off evil spirits - she wears very light makeup!

Adjust by applying a thin, light black eyeliner only along the edges of your eyes.

What about an older maiko next?

Older maiko wear rouge on both sides and also draw black eyeliner, but most of them do not wear eyeliner that is as dark.

Just right②: A half wig that looks like the hair style of a real maiko, but allows you to change into a Japanese hairstyle in a short time without worrying about the hairstyle.

Professional maikos wear their own hair in the traditional Japanese hairstyle, but the length and volume of the hair is important, and it takes time and money to style the hair.

Among our customers who want to do it with the utmost sincerity, there are some who come to us with their hair done like this, but it's a bit difficult, isn't it?

So, you can set your hairline using your own hair."Half wig"At OGION AYA, we use it at no extra charge.

↓The bangs and the hair above the ears are made from your own hair, so it will look as if it were your own hair, and our fast staff can set it in about 10 to XNUMX minutes.

If you are using a half wig, you can style it as long as the length of the bangs and sides is about 5-XNUMX cm. If your hair is a light color, you can use black spray to style it.
It blends in and looks natural. Since it's a wig, it's heavy, but it's appealing that you can easily make it look like your own hair is tied up.

However, depending on your hairstyle, or if you don't want to use your own hair, we can provide you with a wig at no extra charge, so don't worry.

 

This is a bit of a digression, but...

Professional maiko can only wear the hairpin for the month, or the hairpin for younger maiko or older maiko, but at GION AYA, regardless of whether you are a younger maiko or older maiko, you can choose the hairpin for your favorite season, such as the one that matches your kimono or the one for your birthday month.
