I hope everyone is safe after the powerful typhoon No. 21. I pray for the speedy recovery of everyone in Western Japan and Hokkaido, and that those affected will be able to return to their daily lives.

There was some damage to the garden at GION AYA Maiko Experience Centre, but all staff are safe thanks to the temporary closure.

The customer we will introduce this time has also appeared on Facebook, and is Ms. M, a famous geisha who is celebrating her 10th anniversary.

So, this time's kimono feature is ((A complete collection of 4 precious kimonos inherited from a professional geisha!))

Well then, let's get started!!

① "Special Geisha Kimono Kintake (Lined)"

The kimono is not pure white but a soft cream color. The hem is elegantly decorated with a pattern of bamboo leaves and gold bamboo leaves, reminiscent of ink paintings.

In fact, it is the most popular kimono among the special geisha kimonos. It may seem too simple, but many customers become captivated by this kimono once they try it on!!!

To match the kimono, I did the makeup with the image of a gentle and elegant geisha who embraces everything with a smile!

I tried to express transience by using thick eyebrows and reducing the amount of red talismanic ornaments on the eyelids to make the eyes look more droopy.

② "Special Geisha Kimono Purple Peony (Lined)"

A pale wisteria kimono. The hem is gorgeously decorated with a bold peony pattern. It has a luxury and boldness that you don't usually see in kimonos!

The makeup is bold and exudes a chic aura of sexiness and inner strength.

I made the eyeliner longer and the lips fuller than ever before, and by using a lot of red, I hope that you can sense the honesty towards work that a woman has inside her.

③ "Special Geisha Kimono Aotake (Single Layer)"

The white kimono is covered with a design of young bamboo. As a hitoe kimono does not have an lining, it is a kimono that is worn from the end of spring to the beginning of summer, or from the end of summer to the beginning of autumn. The vertical pattern makes the chest area look neat and sharp!!

The theme of the makeup this time was "cool," so I kept the red tones relatively subdued and used colors that accentuated the pale skin.

But I couldn't get rid of the geisha-like sharpness (lol) (It was a sunny day, so if you don't apply a certain amount of red, it will all come off!)

④ "Special Geisha Kimono Wave Purple (Ro)"

A cool-looking kimono with a silver wave pattern. This kimono is meant to be worn in midsummer (July and August). Shooting can be done all year round, so it doesn't have to be in the summer, but if you want to shoot outdoors, we recommend matching it to the season.

The key point of the makeup is to create an impression of a geisha that is not too dignified, with a touch of ephemeral, refined and cute.

I think that if you make the distance between your eyebrows and eyes a little wider, it will give the impression of fragility and devotion. What do you think?

If they are too wide it will also look strange, so the thinness and angle of your eyebrows are important!!!

Ms. M always thinks of the Maiko Experience Center GION AYA as if it were family. This time we introduced the special Geiko kimono, but she also wears regular kimonos, so we hope to introduce them to her on another occasion.
