Speaking of Kyoto, it's the maiko experience!! And the girls love... that's right! Sweets☆This time, I went to a shop near GION AYA♪

Hello everyone! It's been very humid lately. Even when the weather is nice, it's muggy and humid. It's the rainy season in Kyoto. I wish the rainy season would end soon, but the summer in Kyoto is also very humid. But maybe it's better than the rainy season? When it's this hot, it's the season when cold things taste good. It's the season when beer tastes good. Takemi, who loves alcohol, is determined to go to a beer garden this year. So, the other day, on a beautiful sunny day, I went for a walk around the Aya area with my children. Takemi always uses the Keihan line, so when I come to the store, I walk down Shijo Street. Shijo Street is the place where many souvenir shops are lined up - famous shops like "Yojiya", "Tsujiri", "Gion Koishi" and many others, and at this time of year there are many students walking around on their school trips. It's also close to Hanamikoji, so many foreigners walk around too. From our store, Sai, it's less than a 10-minute walk away, even at a leisurely pace, so I took my little one to a sweet shop on Shijo Street. First up is "CANDY SHOW TIME Kyoto Gion", which is sure to look great on Instagram. This shop is so cute, you can see the candy making process on the first floor and it's a great place for girls to get excited. What's more, the second floor is a cafe where you can eat pasta and cakes, so I ordered this, which looks like it would be perfect for Instagram. Jan Cotton Candy Soda has blood orange tapioca pearls and orange juice topped with a large piece of cotton candy. You drink it by dissolving the cotton candy in the juice. I mixed everything together like this, and it wasn't as sweet as it looked, but it was delicious. It even came with a small dish of candy. After this, my little one tricked me into buying a bracelet with a candy charm on it on the first floor. After that, we had lunch near Sai and strolled around the area. (I'll write about that in my next blog.) Then, I went back to Shijo Street again for the first time in a long time. This is "Gion Koishi". This shop is a long-established Kyoto candy store where even maiko come to buy sweets. They have flavors that are easy for children to eat, such as fruit flavors, Kyoto matcha flavors, and strawberry milk flavors. The back and second floor of the Kyoame store are sweet shops. The shaved ice and parfaits here are also very delicious. It's been a while since I last had them, but they were still delicious (#^.^#) The little one ordered the "Kuromitsu Cream Kintoki" and Takemitsu ordered the "Green Tea and Mini Brown Sugar Mitsu Warabimochi" shown in front. The shaved ice had a strong kuromitsu flavor and the ice was fluffy. There was vanilla ice cream and red beans hidden in the ice, and the little one was delighted, saying "Ah! I found it (^^♪)" as if he was on a little treasure hunt. The green tea was not too sweet and easy to drink. It was extremely hot that day, so it tasted even better (*^-^*) The brown sugar warabimochi was also soft and jiggly, and was also very delicious. This shop is also very close to Yasaka Shrine. Besides the shops we went to this time, there are many more delicious sweet shops on Shijo Street, so please look for a shop you like.
