Geisha Makeover Experience

The makeup staff transformed Sakagami into a cute maiko!! ~That funky girl looks just like this~

Hello everyone(^^)/
In my last blog, I wrote that I sleep with a nightcap on every night, but now I braid my hair and then put the nightcap on to sleep, so I can enjoy my poor wavy hair the next day (*^^)v

At GION AYA, the Maiko Experience Center, we hold regular study sessions to further improve our skills and customer service skills.

The other day, I, Konishi, helped makeup staff member Gamisshi, aka Sakagami-san, dress up as a maiko ＼(^o^)／
This allows the "person receiving the makeup" to learn once again how other makeup staff usually prepare customers (what steps, how strong, how fast, etc.), feel, absorb what they learn, and use it to their own advantage. Of course, the "person doing the makeup" can also test their own skills by applying makeup to the faces of staff they are familiar with, and try new methods, so it is a learning experience for both parties (*^^)v

By the way, the one who was "the one getting the makeup done" this time was Missy↓


She usually has golden blonde hair, very short hair, and chunky earrings, giving her a pretty funky style!

This time, our photographer also practiced taking photos outdoors, so we were able to take some great photos outside!

As for the make-up, she wanted it to be "cute!" so we focused on how to erase her usual funkiness (lol) and make her look like a soft, elegant and ephemeral maiko!
The pink colour of the face is soft, the colour of the eyebrows is soft and gentle, the angle is gentle, the red talisman on the eyes is soft and gentle, the red is small and subtle,
Elegant...

We are also often asked by customers experiencing maiko for the first time, but even with short hair like that, the wig blends in well and the result is so natural!
As long as your hair is at least 5cm long from the hairline, it can be combined with a half wig, so don't worry if your hair is short!!
(For those with even shorter hair or who have already had their hair cut short, we have wigs available.)
What's more, that golden blonde hair can be dyed black with black paint spray, just like this!!
There's no trace of the blonde in her!?
If you have light-colored hair, don't worry!
Of course, after the experience, you can wash off your hair at the shampoo dresser before going home.

So that's how it was!
I will use what I learned in this study session to continue evolving every day to bring even more joy to my customers!!!
